Technology changes all the time...
I recently looked at some of the new cell phones coming out this fall. I don't know that you can really even call them cell phones anymore. True, you can make phone calls on them, but they do so much more. A few years back they started calling the phones with more features smartphones. It seems that they're all smart phones these days. Twenty years ago, I knew a doctor who had a "mobile phone" for use in his car. He was a doctor and carried a beeper (anyone still use those?) but felt the need to be reachable, even when he was in his car. It doesn't seem like such a big deal these days, but back then it was. It came in its own briefcase (a briefcase? these days they fit in a small pocket) and cost almost a thousand dollars. Each phone call cost over two dollars a minute. My first cell phone was almost the size of my computer desktop speakers. You couldn't carry it in your pocket, it didn't fit. That was 12 years ago. My phone now does phone calls, delivers emails, surfs the web, plays music and videos, can take still or moving images (video) and is not that different then most phones out there. It's also much smaller.
My first home computer (30 years ago) came from Radio Shack. It stored information on backup tape using a standard cassette tape. You had to use the counter and rewind to the right spot to find your program. Most programs ran in a language called BASIC and did very simple things. The screens were monochrome (meaning one color, usually white or green on the black screen).
I'm wondering how technology will change over the next five years. How small will our cell phones get? Will everyone have a computer that fits right in their pocket? What else do you think will be different? Can you guess? Write back and let me know what you think.

In 5 years I think there will be no big computers, no firefox, and no kidpix. I think computers will be 1 inch to 5 inches tall.

I think there will be a tech upgrade from the technology now. There will probably be flying cars and mobile homes, that can provide free flying cars.

I think in 2030 they are going to change the mouse for the computer. You will use your hands to move things around, not the mouse.

My target is video games. 5 years from now I see technology getting better. I know that there go to be a new touch/keyboard Playstation portable (PSP). I also know that it has a camera to take photos, record video and games to play. It has internet and demos.

In 5 years there will not be any xbox 360 or xbox or wii and gamecubes and games or gamestop.

I think that PSPs are going to be in the air. All you have to think and it will play your game with your thoughts.

This comment is so True. Cell phones These Days Are NOT The Same! Everyone mostly use them for text & Calls Or sometimes internet. The good things about the new phones is that you have favorite five. That Means That you Have 5 people on your phone and every time they call you save your minutes. That What They Call it favorite Five (: .

In five years I think that there will be a lot of changes. First I think that we will have wearable computers. Computers so small and light that you can wear it like a belt or a hat with the ability to project the screen on any available flat surface. Further I think that cars will be able to drive themselves. People won't have to worry about falling asleep while driving, or they will be able to do paper work, or be able to make a phone call, and not worry about having an accident. Also people who do heavy lifting will be assisted by mechanical suits that would enable them to lift many time their usual ability.

In twenty years I think cars will fly and computers wont have to use a mouse. You can tell the computer where you want to go and it will take you to the website.

I think that in 2024 there will be better computers.There will be different cell phones and different game'sytems.They should do like a 3D moving sytems, like every time your body does something the character on the t.v does the same.

In five years i think phones will change in a lot of ways. I think they will make them more useful, more advanced, more easier to use, and maybe even cheaper in cost. I also think they would make them so that people can use them for more than 2 or 3 purposes. They might add more things like different ways to text, call and other things like that.

I think game system are going to be more realistic then the game systems today because you are the game. You are the character you play.

I believe that in 5 more years we can be able to fit cell phones with finger i.d. and can fit in any type of pocket . My prediction is that maybe we might be able to have cell phones project a hologram.

i think that you're right, The technology now is not how it was 20 Or 30 years ago. I think the technology now is better than before because it does more things. I can't picture how They're gonna make phones in 5 or 6 years.

A PSP WILL BE DIFFERENT IN 5 YEARS. IT WILL BE OLD. I HOPE IT HAS AIM BUILT IN.

A psp can play games and movies. It can save videos, music, photos and backgrounds.

That's an interesting thought. At some point the technology of a given piece of electronics just won't improve as much, but there will be new inventions, new technology.

I would like to see small portable 3" laptops. If I could talk to it and have it do what I want it to do and show holograms.

i think the phone you used back then made it hard to contact people. Now with these phones, you can text or call and use beepers. i think someday wireless will be free.

I think in five years people will continue using computers and phones. I would like to see more historical pictures. I wish it would be easier to find stuff about world war two.

In ten years I hope computers will become more like cell phones and you can carry it around with you. Because if they can be as small as cell phones today we can take it anywhere.even though laptops are easy to take around you can just put it in your pocket!!!!!!!!!!!!!
